Do you want to avoid the risks and dangers present in distilled spirits plants and facilities resulting from hazardous materials and ongoing mechanical operations?

You will learn about the human safety considerations and specific risks that individuals (employees and customers) create for a business, as well as safety risk identification and mitigation strategies.

  • Carl Heinlein

    Mr. Heinlein has over thirty years of EHS management experience. He joined American Contractors Insurance Group (ACIG) in February 2002, where he contributes to the successful safety and health initiatives of multiple construction clients. Prior to this, Mr. Heinlein worked as the National Director of Construction Services at FDR Safety. He is also the past National Safety & Health Director for the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America.

    Mr. Heinlein holds a master's degree in Safety & Environmental Management from West Virginia University and ARM, CIT, CPEA, CRIS, CSHM, CSP, FAIHA, FASSP, OHST, STSC safety, health, environmental, and risk management credentials.

    Mr. Heinlein volunteers his time as a member of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Construction Sector. He also sits on the editorial advisory board for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) magazine. Mr. Heinlein served as National Director-At-Large for the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and is a past President of the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

    Mr. Heinlein was recently named an ASSP Fellow. Mr. Heinlein is also a recipient of BCSP’s Certified Safety Professional Award of Excellence and the National Safety Council’s Distinguished Service to Safety Award (DSSA). Mr. Heinlein is a Fellow awarded by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) which has also named him as a Distinguished Lecturer.

    Mr. Heinlein’s leadership skills are sought in his field; he is the past Chair of the West Virginia University's Safety Management Graduate Program Visiting Committee and serves on the advisory committee for the Keene State University Safety Program and the University of Wisconsin – Platteville Construction Management Program. He is also an instructor in the safety and health programs at Columbia Southern University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and West Virginia University.

    Mr. Heinlein serves on the Board of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP). He is also an active member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America, the National Safety Council, and the International Safety and Health Practitioners Organization. As such, he is a nationally noted speaker at conferences and an author/contributor to books and research published by these organizations.
