How to Build a World Class Team: Organizational Structure, Job Descriptions, & Compensation

An ineffective organizational structure can lead a business away from its plans. This course provides the opportunity to apply strategic decision-making to determine the most appropriate organizational structure for an organization’s business goals. It will prepare you to identify the various organizational factors to be considered when selecting the appropriate structure to achieve strategic goals. This course will also examine the role of salary structure and the importance of developing job roles to support the organizational structure and business goals.

1. Analyze the importance of salary structures when developing an equitable and competitive compensation program
2. Develop competency-based job descriptions
3. Define the different types of organizational structures, including functional, decentralized, and matrix
4. Examine how organizational structure determines the flow of information within an organization and its relationship to employee job structure
